About:
Waypoint Bio is utilizing its spatial biology platform to identify and engineer exosomes that are targeted to tumor cells. Spatial biology allows scientists to study cells in their native tissue context and gain insights into the interactions between cells and their environment, including how cancer cells interact with healthy cells in the tumor microenvironment. Waypoint Bio can identify the unique exosome signatures of tumor cells. These exosome signatures consist of specific proteins and other molecules. By identifying the exosome signatures of tumor cells, Waypoint Bio can engineer exosomes that are specifically targeted to these cells. Waypoint Bio’s engineered exosomes are loaded with therapeutic payloads, such as siRNAs or mRNAs, which can silence genes that are involved in tumor growth or express proteins that kill cancer cells.
