Volta Labs is working at the intersection of engineering and biology to develop sequencing technology. The adoption of sequencing technologies is increasing exponentially and necessitates efficient and precise sample preparation solutions, which is a current bottleneck for scientists. Volta is building a sequencing technology agnostic platform that covers the journey from raw biological sample to sequenceable molecules. The platform uses digital fluidics technology that extracts nucleic acids and prepares libraries for sequencing. Volta’s work-flow technology prevents damage to nucleic acids and is contamination-free resulting in high-performance sequencing. Volta’s approach therefore significantly reduces hands-on time for consumers and saves plastic by reducing pipette tip consumption.
