Transition Bio is using machine learning and artificial intelligence to study condensates and unlock previously ‘undruggable’ targets for therapeutics. Condensates are membraneless organelles in cells composed of proteins and nucleic acids that are important for regulating cellular homeostasis. However, they become perturbed during several diseases. Using their proprietary platform, Transition is identifying small molecules that dissolve condensates and restore a healthy state. To identify compounds, Transition’s platform uses a combination of multidimensional microfluidics-based high throughput molecular screening, high-content cellular imaging, and their ML.AI engine to build models from their genomic and biochemical assays.
