Tenza

Tenza is exploiting probiotic microbes to create therapeutic drugs. Current protein therapeutics depend upon injections. However, with the inherent instability of proteins in circulation, the durability is limited with high doses required to be injected into the bloodstream. This creates unwanted side-effect risks and higher drug costs. Tenza is avoiding this through the use of computationally guided synthetic biology to engineer probiotic microbes to synthesize and deliver the drugs directly to the target tissue. Through these methods Tenza aims to offer a more potent, painless and cost-effective method for drug delivery.
