Accelerated Treatments for Rare Cancers

SHEPHERD Therapeutics is creating novel therapies for patients with rare cancers. Each and every person’s cancer has a unique fingerprint defined by thousands of different genes. Therefore, matching one drug to one mutation is not enough for guaranteed treatment success. Instead, SHEPHERD’s technology looks at all genes expressed within a tumor sample and uses a mathematical analysis to analyze which of 509 drugs is more appropriate for the patient. As the approach is agnostic to cancer type, SHEPHARD can help find drugs for the hardest to treat cancers including pediatric, metastatic and rare. In addition, their data can be used to progressively refine clinical trial inclusion criteria with advanced biomarkers.
