Robigo

Robigo is using genome engineering to create a more sustainable food system. Despite the high use of toxic pesticides used yearly, 20-40% of crops are still lost to disease. Robigo is generating healthier soil and crops by engineering microbes to create more effective crop protectants. To achieve this Robigo is applying their understanding of plant microbiomes and its underlying genetic code and combining it with the latest molecular biology tools such as CRISPR gene editing. Robigo is initially focusing on technologies to address devastating diseases that impact high value speciality crops for which there are currently few effective commercial treatments. However, their scalable platform can be applied to various agricultural diseases.
