Particella is a therapeutics start-up based in San Francisco developing oral genetic medicines using lipid nanoparticles and nucleic acids to treat a range of diseases. We are seeking an energetic, creative and entrepreneurial individual to join our team and contribute to the research &amp; development of a next generation delivery platform. You will organize, plan and execute animal experiments daily in our vivarium to help develop our oral gene delivery technology. You will work with the CSO and other scientists. <h3>Description</h3>Day to Day Roles:1. Perform in vivo experiments in rodent models including oral gavage, tail vein injection, I.P. injection, I.M. injection, submandibular blood collection, and tissue collection/processing.2. Make detailed observations, analyze data, interpret results, and exercise appropriate technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments in an independent manner.3. Perform and troubleshooting assays4. Prepare/review technical reports, SOPs and technical summaries; present at internal/external meetings Requirements/Qualifications:Education: <ul><li>B.S. degree with 3+ years of experience or M.S. degree with 1+ years of relevant experience.</li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>Extensive experience performing experiments in mice. Preclinical Pharmacology Research Associate/Scientist

We are seeking an energetic, creative and entrepreneurial individual to join our team and contribute to the research &amp; development of a next generation delivery platform. This leadership role will oversee &amp; manage the LNP formulation team, provide direction on platform improvement and characterization as well as help further build out the team through recruitment.<h3>Description</h3>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Guide and support the LNP formulation and process development</li><li>Support a core function of the team to produce, characterize, and optimize LNP formulations</li><li>Establish and implement a toolset to support LNP process development. This will include high throughput screening technologies and mixing systems</li><li>Drive fundamental improvement of LNP synthesis understanding towards enhancements and simplification of LNP formation</li><li>Screen novel lipids for improved in vivo potency</li><li>Support the generation of preclinical LNP material generation</li><li>Drive the selection, tech transfer, and coordination of contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) for GMP</li><li>Support the writing of protocols and technical reports to support drug product clinical development</li><li>Organize work flows as well as completing individual and team objectives to maintain project timelines</li><li>In-depth track record of understanding and experience of RNA containing LNP synthesis and processing</li><li>Understanding of lipid chemistry, lipid modifications, lipid synthesis, and standard analytical techniques for macromolecules</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the current therapeutic discovery, and process development, especially in gene therapy, gene editing, mRNA, RNAi, or antisense Support the interactions across the company on behalf of the team to ensure alignment of the team’s activity with company priorities</li><li>Work with founders and executive team in building out company’s research development plan and strategy</li><li>Will be involved with developing core IP around early research work</li></ul>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>PhD (or MSc with work experience equivalent) with specialization in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Molecular Biology or related scientific discipline.</li><li>Previous team leadership experience. Ideally has led teams that submitted INDs.</li><li>2+ years of industry experience in preclinical candidate development focused on genetic disease</li><li>Direct industry experience in gene therapy or gene editing technologies</li><li>Outstanding teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Team leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of personnel development</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with mRNA, DNA, siRNAExperience with non-viral delivery methods (eg lipid nanoparticles).
