Karius

Karius is developing diagnostic tests for infectious diseases. Blood samples contain extensive information that can be used to inform the health of a patient. The challenge is extracting that information. Karius has developed a non-invasive test (Karius Test) that uses a single blood sample to detect over 1000 pathogens. To achieve this, Karius uses genomics and AI to detect microbial cell-free DNA circulating in the blood. The Karius Test circumvents the need for invasive tests, thereby enhancing the speed by which diagnoses can be made. The ultimate aim of Karius is to move to a world where infectious diseases are no longer a major threat to human health. This will require expertise from molecular biologists, software engineers, data scientists to clinicians.
