Kanvas Bioscience is revolutionizing microbiome drug discovery. Through the use of their spatial mapping discovery engine, Kanvas is generating pictures of the interactions and connections between host and the microbiome. At the same time, Kanvas is capturing host-cell transcripts and microbial taxonomy which builds an understanding of the role of the microbiome in disease and drug candidates. Having the spatial biology of the host-microbiome interface provides new opportunities for effective therapeutic interventions. Kanvas’ lead program, KAN-002, is in clinical trials for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
