Kano Therapeutics is building novel technology for genome-editing therapies. To make safe, effective and flexible gene editing tools, Kano is using a new class of biomaterials: circular single-stranded DNA (ssDNA). ssDNA offers the stability of DNA and the flexibility of RNA to make a fundamentally better building block for genomic engineering. Kano’s gene editing approach facilitates large genome insertions which have the potential to insert synthetic genes and rescue several genetic diseases and enables the company to be indication-, disease- and technology-agnostic.
