Kalia Health is engineering safe and affordable products to improve maternal health. Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication that develops during the last 20 weeks of pregnancy with serious complications for both parents and unborn child. Part of this is due to the lack of available tools to detect the symptoms present in the early stages. Through development of KAL-PDx, Kalia is creating a cost effective, home-based early detection kit for preeclampsia. The test works like a pregnancy test which expecting mothers can conduct to self-screen for preeclampsia.
