The CDC recently announced the first case of clade 1b mpox in the United States and has just issued a Health Alert Network (HAN) notice. As part of the preparation for the international spread of this infection, the CDC has increased surveillance recommendations, including the use of wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) to provide proactive monitoring and improve regional response. 

GT Molecular offers commercially available RUO mpox assays for wastewater that include a target predicted to recognize and discriminate clade 1 and clade 2 mpox. Additionally, as part of our contract with the CDC we are validating an additional pan-clade 1 mpox assay. We provide both complete assay kits with all primers, probes, and controls included for quantifying mpox as well as national testing services to make testing as easy as possible.
