Growcentia

Growcentia is developing biological products that reduce the necessity of conventional fertilizers and chemicals. To find biologics that benefit soil and plant health Growcentia is using their microbial innovation engine. It begins with their library of 3,500 microbes harvested from soils from around the world and using artificial directed selection to study each microbe and place them into taxonomic categories. With this genetic information, Growcentia can find gene markers for each microbe to determine if they could be beneficial. In particular, Growcentia is interested in finding microbes that can mobilize, solubilize or fix nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
