GelMedix is developing technology to enhance drug-delivery for ophthalmic treatment. Using their proprietary hydrogel platform, GelMedix has created an injectable, photo-crosslinked hydrogel that enables bioadhesion, tissue regeneration, tunable mechanics and therapeutic loading across modalities from small molecules to gene therapies. Their lead program is an integrated hydrogel cell therapy designed to restore vision in patients with retinal disease.GelMedix is hoping to employ their engineering formulations to improve cell viability, engraftment and tissue regeneration in ophthalmic treatments.
