About:
Gel4Med is developing an antimicrobial tissue-scaffolding matrix that can be used in regenerative medicine. The extracellular matrix that cells are embedded in guides their cell fate. Using their Smart Materials Platform, Gel4Med is using a bottom-up nano-engineering approach to create self-assembling fibers that form a macromolecular hydrogel that functions as an extracellular scaffolding matrix. These self-assembling fibers offer a flexible bio-design and are non-toxic and biodegradable allowing them to be used in diverse applications. Gel4Med’s first product is a flowable synthetic wound matrix that can address the growing urgent clinical need for human skin wounds.
