Evozyne is combining evolution and machine learning to build novel proteins. Proteins perform a variety of functions and chemical activities that keep cells alive. Evozyne is looking to make highly-functional novel proteins and apply them to solve long standing challenges in therapeutics and sustainability. These proteins, Evozyne calls ‘Natural MachinesTM’, are built by combining the principles of evolution and deep learning technology, essentially extrapolating from what has already been built by Nature. The advantages of Evozyne’s approach compared to physics-based design informed from structure and random design using directed evolution is the ability to generate a large space of functional protein solutions while optimizing for multiple parameters simultaneously.
