AUM Biotech is using RNA silencing technology to develop precision oncology treatments. RNA silencing describes methods that result in reduced gene expression. AUM has developed an alternative to the natural method of RNA silencing, FANA antisense oligonucleotides, their proprietary technology that allows very high specificity for target RNA binding to mediate subsequent RNA degradation. AUM’s approach is simpler than the classical method and can be delivered without transfection reagents and to any cell type without causing toxicity. The FANA technology can be applied for discovery, translational and potentially therapeutic development. AUM is working to make the technology accessible to more researchers.
