Apton Biosystems is creating optical systems that enable sequencing and protein detection using super-resolution to evaluate molecules closer than a wavelength of light. To achieve this, Apton is using synthetic biology and DNA nanotechnology to fabricate nanostructures for high-density sequencing and protein detection and advanced machine learning for image transformation to view individual molecules beyond the diffraction limit. Apton’s optical solution uses instrument control parameters that facilitate high-speed imaging, generating an unparalleled density of molecular image data. Apton hopes to apply their technology to early cancer detection and population sequencing.
