Antheia is developing next generation medicines inspired by plants. Manufacturing therapies to heal people of disease doesn’t have to be unsustainable. Antheia is focused on identifying therapies while improving the quality of healthcare through bio-based production. By using synthetic biology, genomics, informatics, and fermentation, Antheia is harnessing beneficial molecules from plants to create active pharmaceutical ingredients. This is achieved by building a “molecular factory assembly line” in yeast to produce the desired medicinal molecules. Production using nature’s biosynthesis processes is more controlled and economical, makes more equitable channels of distribution, all while accelerating the discovery of new medicines.
