Alltrna is building a platform to design tRNAs that treat genetic diseases. The platform applies machine learning to design a library of tRNAs, including those with chemical modifications that impact the tRNAs' structure. The tRNAs are synthesized and evaluated for therapeutic potential via automated, high-throughput in vitro assays and studies in animal models. The data is used in Alltrna's machine learning tools to understand how sequence, structure, and modifications can be optimized.
As an initial approach, Alltrna is treating genetic diseases where a nonsense mutation creates a stop codon, which results in a truncated protein. Alltrna has designed tRNAs that can read stop codons within specific mutated genes and deliver the correct amino acid to create the full-length protein.
