The company's mission is to transform RNA-targeting therapeutics through its innovative oligonucleotide technology. The technology has demonstrated unique RNA-targeting capacities and a remarkable therapeutic index profile, particularly in the central nervous system (CNS).
NuCyRNA focuses on developing disease-modifying therapeutics to neurodegenerative diseases, which have significant unmet medical needs in our rapid aging society.
What you will do in this position
You will contribute to, and in some cases lead, the preclinical development of oligonucleotide therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases.
1. Wet lab experiments
a. Conducting cell culture and molecular biology experiments (RT-qPCR, western blot).
b. RNA and protein analysis of mouse brain samples, with the option to gain additional hands-on experience in animal studies if desired.
2. CRO management: collaborate with and oversee CRO partners conducting in vitro and in vivo studies. Ensure scientific rigor through data quality control (e.g., RT-qPCR) and contribute to study design and interpretation.
3. Working with the co-founder team on various tasks.
Background and qualifications
1. Scientific Background – Candidates should have expertise in at least one of the following areas:
a. RNA biology (e.g., RNA silencing, RNA splicing)
b. Neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., ALS, Huntington’s disease)
c. Oligonucleotide drug development
2. Education – PhD or MD required. Recent PhD graduates and postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to apply. Candidates with significant relevant experience but without a PhD/MD will also be considered.
3. Required Skills:
a. Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
b. RNA analysis using RT-qPCR and/or RNA sequencing
4. Preferred (but not required): Industry experience in oligonucleotide therapeutics and/or neurodegenerative disease research.
