About us:
Elixirgen Scientific, launched in 2016, is a Baltimore-based biotechnology company focused on stem cell related technology. The company’s mission is to make stem cell innovation available to everyone. The industry’s top issue is the high cost and inefficiencies in iterating research and development due to the long cell differentiation from human pluripotent stem cells to specific human cells. The company is now providing reagents, kits, cryopreserved cells and services at an affordable price to help make research and other laboratory work more efficient.

Elixirgen Scientific is located in the Science and Technology Park at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, an ideal research environment that allows Elixirgen Scientific’s scientists to conduct research at state-of-the-art facilities.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position may supervise a sales representative and/or team

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with CEO, COO, CBDO and sales & marketing teams identifying and creating client acquisition strategies for advanced human induced pluripotent stem cell differentiation technologies
  • Seek and build new pharmaceutical and biotech client relationships and deals to enhance their drug discovery success
  • Review deal terms on legal documents and drive negotiation towards deal closure
  • Establish strategic business partner relationships within academic institutes and pharmaceutical and biotechnology Industries
  • Foster/strengthen existing partnerships through capable management of existing collaborations
  • Manage and drive projects with clients and/or collaborators
  • Identify and plan new business opportunities re: functional neuronal cell products, assay-ready
    cell plates, and related services
  • Plan, coordinate, and attend conferences, meetings, and events together with Sales, Marketing and R&D staff to maintain existing clients and explore new client relationship

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • MS or Ph.D. in Molecular/Cell Biology, Pharmacology, or related fields
  • 3-8+ years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry in a business development, scientific, sales, and/or marketing role.

Work Environment:
This position may require work in a laboratory from time to time that contains potent, carcinogenic, volatile, and poisonous chemicals. Employees are required to wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment when handling these materials.

Physical demands:
The employee may be required to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Should be able to lift 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Travel:
Willing to travel occasionally. International travel may be required.
